Child Therapy

understanding feelings, and building emotional security

Children don't always have the words to explain what they're feeling. Anxiety, sadness, frustration, and stress may show up instead through behavior, withdrawal, big emotions, difficulty separating from parents, trouble at school, or challenges with friendships.

I work with children in a warm, supportive environment where they can express themselves in ways that feel natural to them. Through conversation, play, creativity, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic approaches, I help children build emotional awareness, understand their feelings, and develop strategies for navigating difficult experiences.

My work is informed by attachment theory, child development, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR when clinically appropriate. I also work closely with parents, helping them understand what may be underneath a child's behavior and supporting them in responding in ways that strengthen connection and emotional security.

The goal is not simply to change a child's behavior. It is to help the child feel understood, develop a stronger sense of themselves, and build the skills and confidence they need to navigate the world.

I work with children experiencing:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Separation anxiety

  • Big emotions and frequent meltdowns

  • School-related stress

  • Social difficulties

  • Changes in family or circumstances

  • Low self-esteem or self-confidence

  • Perfectionism

  • Difficulty expressing feelings

  • Emotional or behavioral changes

Limited afterschool appointments available for children.
